Chlorophyll-Rich Matcha Green Juice

Chlorophyll-rich organic green juice with matcha? If this interests you... then read on! If you don't already drink green juice, you've probably heard about it. Drinking real juice makes it extremely easy for your body to absorb micronutrients, and green juice is a fantastic way to load up on phytonutrients in an efficient manner. While we don't recommend replacing any of your meals with juice, it's a great way to add in extra vitamins and minerals for a health boost!

Have you heard of chlorophyll before? In short, chlorophyll basically gives plants their green colour. Chlorophyll can be found in green vegetables (kale is a great source), but is also very present in higher quality matcha. This powerful green substance not only helps the body detoxify, but is also loaded with antioxidants and cancer-fighting properties. There's really no better way to load up on chlorophyll than by mixing organic matcha with green vegetables!

Recipe makes: 2 large glasses or 3 medium glasses of juice.

Note: We did have a juicer to make this recipe. If you have a high-powered blender and a nut milk bag, you can blend your organic produce and strain it with your bag to make juice.

What you'll need:

  • 5-6 large Organic Kale Stems
  • 1 large Organic Cucumber
  • 2 Organic Lemons
  • 2 Organic Apples (we used Granny Smith)
  • 5-6 Organic Celery Stalks
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. of Soar Organics Matcha
  • 1/2 cup Hot Water to whisk matcha powder

Directions:

  1. Begin by washing your produce and preparing it for juicing. For the lemons remove them from their peel.
  2. Juice away! This is the fun part. Also, you can keep your juice pulp for healthy recipes like muffins. Set aside your fresh juice once done.
  3. Bring 1/2 cup of water to a near boil.
  4. Combine your hot water with your matcha powder in a separate bowl and whisk until bubbles form. If you don't have a matcha whisk, a kitchen whisk will also work.
  5. Combine your freshly whisked matcha with your juice and stir with a spoon.

You can keep your organic juice for up to 24 hours in the fridge. Oxidation over time will begin to break down some of the nutrients in your juice, which is why it's best to consume fresh juice as soon as possible.

This green juice has a distinct earthy taste, however the lemon and apple bring out nice and subtle sweet undertones. Let us know what you think!
