Matcha Overnight Oats

November 23, 2017Soar Organics

Oats are definitely a favourite for us, and with matcha added it's a win-win! If you've never heard of "overnight oats" before.. they're oats that don't need to be cooked because the mixture is left for a period of time, which helps it absorb. If you're looking for an easy breakfast to prepare in advance for the morning (and still want to get in your matcha fix) these Matcha Overnight Oats are an excellent choice!

Matcha makes for the perfect morning treat as it's packed with healthy antioxidants and natural caffeine. The natural caffeine found in matcha will help your energy levels throughout the day without giving you that "crash" feeling we can sometimes get from coffee. Matcha also contains L-theanine, which can help promote feelings of relaxation by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter GABA in the brain. Not to mention oats are loaded with healthy fiber and can also help stabilize blood sugar levels. This is fantastic for helping lower cholesterol and in preventing heart disease.

  • 1 tbs. Organic Chia Seeds
  • 3/4 cup Vanilla Almond Milk (or your favourite milk)
  • 1 tsp. Soar Organics Matcha

    Optional Layers/Toppings:

    • Coconut Yogurt
    • Granola
    • Organic Chia Seeds
    • Organic Fruit
    • Organic Jams

    Steps:

    1. Combine your oats, chia seeds and almond milk in a jar that can be covered. Stir with a spoon.
    2. Next add in your Soar Organics Matcha and maple syrup. Mix well to ensure there's no clumps.
    3. Pop into your fridge for 6-8 hours (at least 6 hours is ideal).
    4. By the morning you will have a delicious jar of healthy overnight oats! If you like your oats more creamy feel free to add in additional almond milk. If you wish to layer your oats in a parfait (like we did) simply keep them the way they are!
