Soar Organics Hojicha Powder is a traditional Japanese tea made from roasted green tea leaves. It starts with a thoughtful blend of summer and autumnal harvest tea leaves, plus a dash of "kuki" (meaning "stems"). Kuki adds a richness that can only be found in the stem of the leaf. This aromatic tea is slowly roasted at high temperatures which creates a delicious and unique flavour profile. Hojicha powder is low in caffeine, making it perfect for a relaxing evening latte!

How To Use

Best used in hojicha lattes, blended beverages and hojicha-inspired treats. Hojicha latte instructions:

  1. Sift ½ tsp. hojicha powder into bowl or cup.
  2. Pour 60ml (2oz) hot water onto the powder. For best results use water just under a boil.
  3. Whisk thoroughly until your hojicha tea forms a frothy layer.
  4. Heat or steam 1 cup of your favourite milk over medium heat and add to hojicha.
  5. Optional: Add a sweetener of your choice. We recommend coconut sugar and maple syrup!

This is pretty good hojicha!

I’ve always been a matcha drinker but with my recent trip to Japan, really got into hojicha. This is a pretty good one, I think it’s not as strong as the matcha, I usually use twice the amount of hojicha to achieve that same strength. But overall, I really like it and would purchase it again.

Great Taste

I recently purchased the Hojicha Powder when I re-ordered the Everyday Matcha which I love. I've really been enjoying switching up my mornings with this. The flavour is almost like coffee so it would make a great substitute. I no longer drink coffee but enjoy this toasted flavour as a change from my favorite matcha. Really happy I tried Soar Organics, I'm convinced it's the best tasting and most blendable matcha powder!
